About Stephen Lott

From Humble Beginnings to Empowering Entrepreneurs

My journey is a testament to the power of transformation and determination. Growing up in Cleveland Heights, I graduated high school with a modest GPA of 1.79. Yet, my story didn't end there; it was just the beginning. I ventured into higher education, earning both my undergraduate degree and MBA from Georgia State University, specializing in finance. During my MBA, I was offered a unique opportunity to shape the minds of future business leaders as a college professor at GA State University, teaching entrepreneurship.

A Passion for Practical Solutions

My entrepreneurial journey spans over 15 years, during which I've founded and co-owned ventures such as KYN Accounting LLC, a cloud-based accounting firm, Motherland Cannabis Dispensary in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and CLOUDIT, a financial staffing solution. My drive stems from a deep commitment to providing practical financial solutions and strategic insights to business owners, especially minority entrepreneurs. I've always believed in the power of understanding numbers, strategic planning, and securing investments or loans to foster business growth.

A Worldly Perspective on Business

My academic and professional pursuits have taken me around the globe, studying abroad in Paris for business negotiations, Japan for psychology in business, and Dubai for international business. These experiences have enriched my understanding of the global business landscape, allowing me to bring a diverse perspective to my teaching and entrepreneurial ventures.

Driven by Faith, Family, and Character

At my core, I am a man driven by faith, family, and character. I share my life with my supportive wife and three children, who keep me grounded and motivated. I believe that people are the heart of any business, and my focus has always been on equipping business owners with the knowledge and tools necessary for success. I stand by the idea that financial information should be accessible to all, advocating that one pays for the time to acquire knowledge rather than the knowledge itself.

A Coach at Heart

My first venture, London Athletics, a basketball training business for youth, taught me the value of patience, coaching, and celebrating small wins as stepping stones to larger victories. Inspired by Dr. Myles Monroe's words, "Ease is a greater threat to success than hardship," I have embraced challenges as opportunities for growth and learning.

Looking Ahead

My aspirations extend to earning a doctorate, continuing to teach at the collegiate level, and developing products and resources that add tangible value to entrepreneurs' journeys. My mission is to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs, equipping them with the tools to succeed with fewer trials and errors.
